at Rangjung Yeshe Institute. 1. Web Developer Rangjung Yeshe Institute formally invites applications and nominations for the full-time position of Web Developer. The appointment will run from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010 (12 months) with the possibility for extension. The key tasks of the post are to: 1. Manage and develop the RYI and CBS websites and blogs 2. Manage and develop the websites and blogs of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery 3. Report regularly to the Communications Manager 1. Manage and further develop RYI and CBS websites including blogs - Work with Communications Manager to design and develop all aspects of RYI and CBS websites, including:
- Student application and registration sections
- Assist with online learning website when requested by the Director of Online Learning
2. Maintain and develop the websites and blogs of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling - Work on the design, development, and upkeep of the following websites:
- www.shedrub.org
- www.dharmasun.org
- www.shenpennepal.org
- www.dharmachakra.net
- Other associated websites to be developed
- Liaison: Individual designated point persons
3. Report to the Communications Manager, including preparation of annual report of efforts with recommendations for the upcoming year Personal Qualities and Skills Required - Excellent communication skills

- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as in teams.
Qualifications and Experience - Web design
- PHP and HTML programming
- Photoshop
- Fluency in written and spoken English

The key tasks of the post are to: 1. Develop an external communications strategy 2. Manage and further develop the RYI and CBS websites and blogs 3. Oversee production of appropriate academic materials 4. Oversee production of appropriate materials for current and prospective students 5. Manage and further develop RYI’s advertising activities 6. Oversee production of appropriate alumni materials 7. Oversee production of appropriate fundraising materials 8. Oversee production of other materials as required 9. Oversee Media assets management 10. Report regularly to the EC 1. Develop an external communications strategy - Review external communications needs of RYI and CBS
- Carry out desk-top research of strategies of other similar organizations
- Make recommendations on communications investments
- Prepare a communications action and investment plan
- Handle public relations, press releases, etc.

5. Manage and further develop RYI’s advertising activities - Develop RYI’s advertising strategy
- Review the effectiveness of various adverts
- Prepare new adverts
- Liaison: Director of Development

6. Oversee production of appropriate alumni materials - Bi-annual newsletter
- Losar card
- Liaison: Director of Development
- Consult with: EC
7. Oversee production of appropriate fundraising materials - Produce fundraising brochures and other materials
- Liaison: Director of Development

8. Oversee production of other PR materials as required - Produce promotion video / you-tube
- Post cards
- Posters
- T-shirts
- Cups, key-chains, etc.

9. Oversee media assets - Maintain searchable media archive
- Produce a year book of RYI students
- Manage yearly group photo
- Develop photo gallery of RYI from 1997 onwards
- Liaison: Director of Development
- Consult with: Administrator
10. Report regularly to the EC - Prepare annual report of RYI PR efforts with recommendations for the upcoming year
- Prepare monthly summary of activities
- Liaison: Principal

Qualifications and Experience - Practical knowledge of publishing software and printing processes
- Working knowledge of internet communications and software
- Professional editing experience
- Knowledge of academic advertising and marketing strategies
- Experience of living and working in a cross-cultural settings
- Familiarity with the Shedra study environment.
